SCANPH & Valley Nonprofit Resources presents: Forecasting Your Financial FutureSubmitted by Blayne Sutton-Wills on 5 February 2010 - 3:14pm.18 Mar 2010 - 11:00am 18 Mar 2010 - 3:00pm Forecasting Your Financial Future II - Resources for Affordable Housing Nonprofits Date: Thursday, March 18, 2010 Time: 11:00 am- 3:00 pm Location: North HollywoodLike its very successful predecessor in October 2009, this workshop will help affordable housing nonprofits, especially those with annual budgets of more than $500,000, expand their financial planning skills. This time the emphasis will be on local resources affordable housing nonprofits can identify and use to obtain working capital and financial consulting services (e.g., to help with financial strategic planning). A featured speaker will be David Greco and Karla Salazar of the Nonprofit Finance Fund, which recently opened a Los Angeles office and launched a major foundation-supported program to assist local nonprofits. Joining them will be local leaders in the affordable housing community, who will offer practical strategies for success and case examples. Co-sponsored by Valley Nonprofit Resources and Southern California Association of Nonprofit Housing. Cost of the workshop is $20, which includes lunch.
Expected Outcome Participants will leave with an understanding of practical and innovative strategies to incorporate into your organization's financial plan. You will also learn about the local resources available to build your skills in financial planning. As well as be inspired by leaders in the field that are still moving their agenda forward in the face of tough economic times.
Who Should Attend? It is recommended that participating nonprofits send both their executive director and chief financial officer. However all housing staff are invited to learn from the experience. Please register by Monday, March 15th For more information and to register, contact Diana Medina, VNR Project Coordinator, at (818) 990-0176 or dianahiri@aol.com
