This is one last thing you can do in 2013 to make for a better 2014!

We are making a final push to reach out to legislators -- while they are in the districts before heading back to Sacramento on January 3rd -- to remind them of the importance of affordable housing to their constituents.  Most of them are having holiday parties, so we can easily take residents or other district community members to talk with them directly.

Senator Steinberg Announces Proposal Directing 20% of Cap-and-Trade Funds to Affordable Homes Near Transit

(from Housing California) Senate President pro Tem Darrell Steinberg held a press conference to release his long-term investment strategy for revenues generated by California's Cap-and-Trade program. The program is estimated to generate between $3-5 billion/year, and Senator Steinberg's proposal directs 20 percent of these funds to the development of affordable homes near transit.
