The popular SCANPH Summer Series: Networking Nights returned on June 7th at Karl Strauss Brewery in downtown Los Angeles. Over 50 members and industry stakeholders attended the event for a night of discussion and new connections.  This series of programming includes a professional development component with a notable guest sharing insights from their career. 

Ben Winter, Director of Housing and Community Development Policy for the Office of Mayor Garcetti, joined our Executive Director Alan Greenlee for a Q & A session about his career in public service and housing policy. Prior to joining the Mayor's team, Winter was a senior analyst for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, where he served as an advisor to the HUD secretary and senior leadership on housing, disaster relief and community development initiatives. He gave attendees some insight into the lesser known responsibilities of the cabinet department.
